About Slapjack
Meet Slapjack, a three-year-old cat with a big personality who's currently feeling overwhelmed by shelter life. He spends most of his days tucked away, preferring solitude and choosing hiding spots over socializing. When he feels comfortable, Slapjack sometimes allows gentle pets, but he's quick to communicate when he's had enough. Because he needs his space respected, Slapjack would do best in a calm home with older kids (10+) who understand boundaries and can give him time to settle in. Slapjack is front-declawed and manages "puffy pad disease," an immune condition that affects his paw pads with swelling and discomfort, but ongoing treatment with steroids and antibiotics can keep him comfortable. Adopters should be ready for the commitment his special care requires. Shelter staff haven’t yet tested him with other cats or dogs, but they're open to checking for anyone interested. Despite his caution, there’s a softer side to Slapjack waiting for a patient adopter who’ll give him the chance to decompress and come out of his shell. He is neutered, FELV/FIV negative, and microchipped. Slapjack is in Osseo, MI, and ready for his next chapter. Click apply to start the adoption process.
