About Stew The

Meet Stew — also known as Stewart, Stewart Little, Lil Stew, and Stewie — a tiny tripod with a giant personality and absolutely zero understanding of the phrase “take it easy.” Stew came into foster care after it was discovered that he needed a leg amputation. While nobody knows exactly what happened to him, it’s believed he may have been sideswiped by a car or possibly thrown from a vehicle. Despite everything he’s been through, Stew has never let it dim his spirit for even a second. A few weeks ago, Stew had his leg amputated, and honestly? He seems to view having three legs as more of a suggestion than a limitation. This little guy runs, climbs, wrestles, zooms, and explores just like any other kitten — if not harder. In Stew’s mind, he is basically Tarzan. Cat trees and tall scratching posts are simply jungle gyms designed specifically for him. He swings, launches himself, climbs fearlessly, and throws caution directly out the window. Missing a leg has not slowed his adventurous spirit down one bit. Stew is being raised in a busy foster home with cats ranging from tiny bottle babies to a wise 12-year-old senior cat. He also lives with a 100+ lb Great Pyrenees, a 60+ lb Lab, and a 70 lb Golden/Pyrenees mix — all of whom he gets along with wonderfully. He’s fantastic with kids too. Stew has spent time with children ages 3–12 and has even accompanied his foster mom to preschool, where he’s been lovingly carried around, wrangled like a tiny wild hog, and enthusiastically adored by excited little kids. He also happily soaks up snuggles from his 12-year-old aunt. Through all the chaos, Stew just rolls with it and enjoys the attention. Now for Stew’s hobbies — because this boy has many. First and foremost: cat springs. Stew is OBSESSED. If you hear mysterious crashing noises in the middle of the night, relax — it’s probably just Stew launching a spring toy down the hallway and ricocheting it off the baseboards like a one-kitten demolition crew. And when he’s finally done with his nightly chaos, he proudly brings his spring into bed with him, snuggling it like his favorite bedtime companion right alongside you. He’s also a huge fan of catnip. His preferred routine is to eat a little, roll in it dramatically, sprint around the house like he’s possessed, and then repeat the process until he eventually tires himself out. Cardboard boxes are another favorite because every box immediately becomes either a fortress, a race car, or a sneak attack station. At bedtime, Stew starts out sweet and innocent, curling up by your legs or burrowing under the blankets for snuggles. But don’t let that fool you. Once you’re half asleep, Stew activates goblin mode — and your toes become his chosen victims. Life with Stew is never boring. He’s fearless, hilarious, affectionate, wildly entertaining, and proof that three legs are more than enough for a kitten determined to live life at full speed. Stew is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast but can be transported to the northeast. His adoption fee is $300. When Stew's Adoption Application is received, you will be contacted about transport details.
