AvailableAbout Cammie
** Philadoptables has generously offered to donate $300 to the rescue that pulls! ** Cammie (ACCT-A-249098) is an approximately 4-year-old female who arrived as a stray on 4/30. She is a sweet, gentle girl with a calm and loving nature, searching for a safe and caring place to call home. Although she is understandably very focused on food right now, she takes treats with remarkable politeness and a soft mouth. Cammie urgently needs placement where her feeding plan can be carefully managed and her progress monitored, so she can safely regain a healthy weight and continue to thrive. This super cuddle bug likes to chew on a ball and sunbathe. She seems to want to sit in laps and be cuddled on as her second favorite activity. She is a very happy dog, is working on gaining some body mass! Medical: On 4/30 staff noted: "P was noted on intake exam to have a very poor body condition. Any patient with a BCS of a 1 or 2 is eligible for a medical feeding treatment plan. Assessment: P has a BCS of a 1 or a 2 on the Purina body score scale. A low body score could indicate an increased risk of refeeding syndrome when provided access to an unregulated amount of food. P's current weight: 28lbs P's ideal weight: ~35-38lbs A medical feeding plan is recommended to ensure a slow reintroduction to caloric intake. These meals should be provided and monitored by a medical team member until recheck with veterinarian. Plan Feeding plan: Day 1 & 2- 1/2 cup ID dry food TID (504 kcal/day) Day 3 & 4- 1/4 cup ID dry food & 1/4 can ID wet food TID (543 kcal/day) Day 5 & 6- 1/2 can ID wet food TID (582 kcal/day) Day 7- Resume feeding with gen pop TX: B12 injection SQ q7D x 4 weeks (while in care) Recheck and reweight scheduled for 5/8/26 Protocol approved by Dr." On 4/30 exam Doctor noted: "Emaciated. She was very easy to leash and walked with me, no pulling, towards the back play yard. She sniffed around a lot and began eating grass. She was very focused on exploring the area, nose to the ground and less on the handler. She allowed pets all over and would look up occasionally to check in. She met Oscar head on, gave appropriate greetings and then allowed him to sniff her with no issues while she continued to explore. Once given the opportunity, she sniffed Oscar appropriately and seemed more engaged in him. After the meet, I brought her back to her kennel and she looked up with soft eyes, loose body and a wiggly butt. No issues entering kennel or removing her leash." On 4/30 finder noted: "Happy and jolly with strangers. Friendly, cuddly, quiet and playful." ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
