About Pickle Lily

Dear Future Family, Hi. My name is Pickle Lily, and I've been told that if I want people to know me, I should tell them a little bit about myself. I'm not exactly sure where to start. Maybe I should tell you that I've been a mom, a few times now. Before rescue, I spent a long time outside trying to survive after being left behind by my original owners. Honestly, I don't remember a lot of relaxing during that time. Mostly I remember trying to keep myself and my babies safe. Eventually, a very kind community member noticed me and decided I deserved help. That's how I ended up in with Saved by Zade. I got to raise my final kittens somewhere warm and safe, and one by one, I watched all of them grow up and get adopted into loving homes. I was so happy for them. Truly. But after they all left, I stayed behind waiting for my turn. I'm still waiting, actually. My foster family says I'm one of the sweetest girls they've ever met, and I think that's probably true. I love being brushed more than almost anything. If you brush me, I'll roll over and melt into a little puddle immediately. I also love sitting in high places where I can look down over my kingdom properly. Window perches are especially important because bird-watching is one of my favorite hobbies. I like toys too. I didn't really get much time to play when I was living outside, so I'm making up for it now. At night, I'll usually curl up near your face or feet while you sleep. Not directly on top of you or anything rude like that. Just nearby so you know I love you. There is one important thing I should tell you about me. I have an itchy spot on my back that I've struggled with for a long time. My foster thinks the stress of surviving outdoors probably played a big role in it. I'm doing so much better now and usually leave it alone, but sometimes I still need a little help remembering not to overgroom there. I take a daily medication for it, and every once in a while I may need to wear a fancy necklace (collar) if I start bothering the spot again. I promise I'm worth the extra care. I get along fine with other calm, respectful cats after a slow introduction, but I'm not too picky about my new home. Mostly I just want a peaceful space where I can finally relax for good. Somewhere safe, loving and permanent. I think I've spent enough of my life surviving. I'd really like to spend the rest of it being loved. Love, Pickle Lily P.S. If you want to learn more about me, or meet me, or even better make me part of your family, all you need to do is email adoptions@savedbyzade.com!
