Balsam is a 1-year-old tabby with a quiet, sensitive nature and the sweetest little heart. He may not be the first one to run up and greet you—but give him time, and you’ll discover a truly special cat. Balsam is shy at first and will likely spend his first few days (or even weeks!) tucked into a cozy hiding spot, just taking it all in. And that’s okay—he just needs a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and come out of his shell at his own pace. Once he starts to trust you, you’ll see his playful side come to life. He loves feather toys, ribbons, and will happily chase anything that moves. And when it comes to snacks? Balsam is a full-blown foodie—Churus, freeze-dried chicken, and Temptations are the way straight to his heart 😄 He’s already starting to enjoy being pet, especially with a treat in hand, and is slowly learning that affection is a good thing. With time, patience, and consistency, his confidence continues to grow. Balsam also has a built-in best friend—his sister Banyan. The two love to play together and provide each other comfort and confidence, making them a wonderful pair for a home looking for double the love. He’s litter box trained, gets along with other cats, and would do best in a quiet, low-key home where he can settle in without too much chaos. Balsam may not demand attention right away, but for someone willing to let him bloom at his own pace, he will become a deeply rewarding companion.
