About Rex

Meet Rex! Found at just five weeks old in a homeless encampment in Perris, CA, Rex has seen more of life than most dogs his age and handled every bit of it with spirit and a wagging tail. Rex was born with rear leg deformities, but he doesn't let that slow him down. With his wheels, he moves around confidently, and when they're off, he happily scoots and navigates thresholds, uneven ground, and even steps. He gets in and out of his crate on his own with a few tweaks, showing real determination and creativity. Now about 16 lbs and growing, Rex is a social puppy who loves people—including kids—and enjoys the company of other dogs. While he has the usual puppy energy, his kindness shines through immediately. He's already about 90% house trained, sleeps all night in his crate, and soaks up training with focus. With guidance, his trainers see real therapy dog potential. Rex is special, not because of his challenges, but because of what he manages to do in spite of them—and what he’s ready to achieve with the right adopter. He’s searching for an experienced dog owner willing to provide structure, patience, and love. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
