About Mr. Arthur Valentine

Mr. Arthur Valentine – Professional Lover Boy and Full-Time Human Fan Club Quick Facts Age: 2 years old Gender: Male Breed: Domestic Shorthair Vaccinations: Up to date Neutered/Spayed: Yes FeLV & FIV: Negative Microchipped: Yes Litter Trained: Yes Good With: Cats, dogs, respectful children Mr. Arthur Valentine is a 2-year-old sweetheart whose entire personality can basically be summed up as: “Please love me immediately.” And honestly? He lives up to the name perfectly. This handsome boy came from a horrible situation where kindness was not something he got to experience regularly. But once he realized humans could actually be safe and loving, he fully committed to the idea — and now all he wants in life is affection. Not toys. Not treats. Not chaos. Just pets. Mr. Arthur Valentine is one of the most people-focused cats you could ever meet. He wants to be with his humans constantly and happily spends his days sitting next to them while they work, supervise chores, watch TV, or simply exist nearby. He does not care what you are doing as long as he gets to do it with you. And when he decides he needs attention? You will absolutely know. This boy gets LOUD when he wants love, and honestly, it is adorable. He has loved every single person he has met almost instantly and approaches the world with the kind of trust and affection that feels genuinely special considering where he came from. One of his cutest habits is what his foster lovingly calls his “swimmies.” When he is especially happy and purring, he kneads the air with his paws like he is swimming through pure joy. It is heartbreakingly cute. Mr. Arthur Valentine is also incredibly easygoing. Very little seems to bother him. Other cats? Barely worth acknowledging. He is far too busy rolling around at his humans’ feet and trying to soak up attention. He truly only has eyes for his people. He also comes running right back when called because, in his opinion, being near humans is the best thing in the world. After everything he survived, Mr. Arthur Valentine has decided love is his favorite thing — and now he is looking for a forever home where he can spend the rest of his life absolutely smothering someone in affection. If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know I am VERY serious about human attention. I don’t really care about toys or treats nearly as much as I care about sitting next to you and getting pets. I love people immediately, I come when called because I’d rather be with humans than anywhere else, and when I’m extra happy, I do little “swimmies” with my paws while I purr. I’m easygoing, affectionate, and fully committed to being somebody’s best friend forever. Important Adoption Information and Next Steps: All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are: Spayed or neutered Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations Microchipped prior to adoption Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate). Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment. We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County. To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application. After Submitting Your Application: Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed. For Pets Already in the Home: Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe. Keep in Mind: We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
