About Snoopy

Snoopy previously lived in a home with adults and dogs, but lost that home due to divorce, moving, lack of time, and housing restrictions — none of it her fault. Could Snoopy Be Your Dog’s Future Friend? The reviews are mixed — but maybe Snoopy just needs the right introduction. Snoopy has lived with dogs before! Her former owner shared both that she could become “scared” and “attack” dogs at times, and also selected that “my cat has never had a problem living with dogs.” Confusing? A little. But it sounds like Snoopy may simply need slow introductions, patience, and an understanding of her boundaries. In the shelter, Snoopy’s behavior has been inconsistent. Sometimes she leans right into pets and seeks affection; other times she becomes fearful and defensive when overwhelmed. She can also become overstimulated with prolonged petting or high-energy interactions. The good news? Snoopy has recently started behavior medications after stress-related overgrooming and is already seeming much happier. Staff have found that she truly does want connection — she just needs someone willing to go slow and let her initiate interactions on her own terms. Underneath the stress is a sensitive, affectionate cat who may thrive again in the right home.
