About Gemma
Meet Gemma. Part couch potato, part tiny queen, and absolutely opinionated about the weather. Gemma is a nine-year-old Rat Terrier mix with a big heart, a strong love of routine, and powerful feelings about wet grass—she’ll do nearly anything to keep her paws dry, and her dramatic avoidance is oddly impressive. At home, Gemma is loyal, affectionate, and quietly adores any opportunity to nap beside her people. She thrives in calm, predictable spaces where cuddling is encouraged and snacks arrive on schedule. Her foster loves her tiny, persistent whine for extra attention and says Gemma considers snuggling a full-time career. She is low energy, walks well on a leash, and is crate trained. Gemma gets along with calm dogs and cats, but doesn’t appreciate overly excited dogs or having her personal boundaries pushed. She prefers an adult-only, child-free home where her pace and need for peaceful routines are respected. Gemma can be possessive of her food, so she’ll need to eat separately, but settles beautifully when this simple rule is followed. She isn’t a fan of being picked up, so a patient adopter, willing to let trust develop naturally, is essential. If you appreciate quiet company from a sensitive, funny, slightly opinionated little senior, Gemma may be the perfect fit. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
