Introducing Angus! He is 100% Grade A Prime BEEF. At roughly 2 years old and 115lbs he is the epitome of big dog energy which is to say, not much. He sleeps, he drools (by the bucketful), he eats, and then goes back to sleep. He is also hilariously picky about treats and has a refined palate that so far only includes freeze dried lamb or beef heart nuggets and pig ears. If you offer him chicken jerky or god forbid a milkbone. He will simply stare at you like you've lost your mind and then slowly walks off to find someone who isn't going to expect him to eat peasant food. Supposedly Bullmastiffs were bred for guarding estates, but while he got the notes on intimidating bark and fancy palate he somehow missed the agility and courage genes. He looks surprised or vaguely worried much of the time and doesn't appreciate loud noises or sudden movements. He takes treats gently and walks nicely on leash and knows sit. We think he would be fine with kids and probably cats with a slow introduction. He has met other dogs here at the shelter and was interested in play so we think he would consider having a canine housemate. We do require meet and greets in any dogs or minor children living in the home. If you've always wanted a King Sized dog, and you would be fine with sleeping in one tiny corner of the bed, Angus could be the dog for you.
