About Lottie Scroll To
Lottie is a 2 1/2-year-old spayed female, likely a Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd mix, with a soft apricot and white long coat. She came into care just before Christmas after a rough start in Tennessee, where she was rescued from an abusive situation. Despite this, Lottie shows remarkable sweetness and loyalty to her people. She bonds deeply once trust is earned but can be quite wary of strangers and will alert bark at unfamiliar faces or wildlife passing the window. Lottie needs to be the only pet in her new home—her prey drive makes her incompatible with cats, and she prefers not to be around large dogs. She does better with small dogs at a distance but is most comfortable as the center of attention. Lottie is housebroken and up-to-date on vaccines. She does sometimes jump on people, so she's a better fit for families with older, respectful children. A securely fenced yard is required for her. She has a deformed front paw from an old, untreated injury, but it doesn’t cause her pain. Surgery can correct it, and the rescue will cover that cost as long as it’s done in Madison, WI, so adopters near Rockford or between Rockford and Madison are preferred for ease of transport. Meet-and-greets can be tricky since Lottie is defensive with strangers at first, but she softens up after you get to know her. She’ll thrive in a home where she’s truly a family member, not left outside or treated as a farm dog. If you’re ready for a loyal, gentle soul who just needs a little patience up front, Lottie is waiting. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
