She may not demand attention right away, but beneath her cautious nature is a sweet and loving cat who is still learning to feel safe in the world. When she first arrived, Squeaks was very shut down and preferred to stay hidden. With time, patience, and a supportive environment, she has made steady progress and is beginning to build confidence and trust. Squeaks has a calm, low-key play style. She enjoys soft toys and has started to engage more with play, especially as her confidence grows. She prefers a predictable environment and is not overly curious or high-energy. She has begun seeking out affection on her own, including sitting in laps and gently grooming her people with little licks. She can be picked up and snuggled, though she appreciates reading her cues as she continues to build trust, and can give a light warning nip. Squeaks is learning to interact with other cats and would do best in a patient home that can give her the time and space she needs to continue blossoming. Squeaks is a special cat who just needs the right person to see her potential.
