About Orion
Orion, known affectionately as the Gentle Giant or Big Mush, is the definition of a lovable oversized lap dog. Despite weighing in at about 90 pounds, Orion is convinced your lap is the perfect spot for him and doesn’t let his size deter his craving for closeness. He’s lived with a family almost his entire life, but recently ended up in rescue after divorce left him with no one to give him the time he deserves. Well-mannered and already house and crate trained, Orion prefers the comfort of the floor to the inside of a crate or the top of a bed. Leash walks are simple—he’ll gladly join you for a stroll, but he’s built for relaxation, not speed. Orion knows his basic commands and calmly enjoys time with children and dogs in his foster home, and cats don’t faze him either. His mornings begin with a short burst of energy playing with the other dogs, then he’s back to napping or tagging along to kids’ sporting events, soaking up every bit of attention available. Orion’s foster home is in Jacksonville, FL, though he is listed in Tallahassee, FL. He’s ready to find a family to anchor his big, happy heart and bring stability back to his days. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
