About Nero

Nero is a striking, long-coated two-year-old German Shepherd who has already been through a lot but still greets the world with a happy, goofy spirit. He's all you’d expect from a Shepherd: affectionate, deeply loving, and playful—plus he has a knack for making people laugh. Nero gets along well with other dogs, especially females, and his manners are solid. He knows his basic commands and walks nicely on leash. Because of his high prey drive, Nero cannot live with cats and needs a securely fenced yard. He balances bursts of energy with plenty of nap time and loves hanging out in the yard, tossing toys, and taking car rides. Before arriving in rescue, Nero was abandoned at a rural gas station, looking for help and enduring mistreatment. Despite everything, he stayed gentle and sweet—a true testament to his resilient, friendly nature. Now that he’s fully healed, he is ready for a fresh start. Nero needs an experienced adopter familiar with German Shepherds and a safe yard for him to enjoy. He is neutered, vaccinated, and house trained, and he’s ready to find the person who will finally give him all the love he’s missed out on. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
