About Atlas

Meet Atlas: A Resilient Heart Looking for a Soft Place to Land The Story of Atlas Atlas is a four-year-old Shepherd mix who truly lives up to his name. For a long time, he carried the weight of a difficult past, coming to us from a situation where he didn’t receive the care or kindness every dog deserves. When he first arrived, his spirit was quiet, and his body was weary, but through it all, he has remained one of the most gentle souls we have ever had the privilege to care for. Health & Healing Atlas is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He is currently being treated for flea dermatitis, which has left his coat looking a little thin in spots. Please don't let his "work-in-progress" look deter you! Underneath those itchy patches is a beautiful, loyal dog who is healing more and more every day. He is taking his treatments like a total champ, seemingly grateful for the relief and the soft touch of a human hand. Personality & Traits Incredibly Sweet: Atlas is a professional snuggler. Despite his rough start, he hasn't let it harden his heart. He craves affection and will leaning into you for pets the moment he feels safe. Dog Friendly: One of Atlas's best qualities is how well he gets along with other dogs. He is social, patient, and would likely do very well in a home with a canine sibling to help build his confidence. Resilient: There is a quiet strength in Atlas. He is looking for a family that understands he may need a little extra patience as he learns what it’s like to live in a loving home. The Ideal Home Atlas is ready to trade the weight of the world for the weight of a warm blanket. He would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of belly rubs and the assurance that he will never be neglected again. Whether you have another dog for him to play with or you just want a loyal companion to join you on the couch, Atlas is ready to be your best friend. Are you the one to show Atlas that his "not so great" days are officially over?
