About Nyt

The Grande Dame of the New York Times Games kitties is NYT (“Newt”) herself. She came into foster care as a terrified mom to 4 newborn babies (1 didn't make it) from a difficult situation. She had every right to be nervous, sad and scared. The word that came out most though was “protective” – she was a brilliant mom to these little babies. She kept them absolutely under control – only letting them out of their carrier at over 2 weeks old and then firmly in place in their nest until she said they could get out. Once they became independent, she relaxed her grip a little, but has continued to show love, support and a bit of a need for discipline to all of the babies. One of the best moments of fostering this family was when Newt learned what it was to play with a toy. For what was probably the first time, someone was focusing on her and trying to get her to have some fun. She had no idea what to do with a green feather wand but once she figured it out, she loved play time! Each and every toy that was brought in for the babies, their tunnel, their cat tree, all got to be played with by Newt first. It has to be said – she's absolutely stunning. Her patterns are truly one of a kind – she looks like a Van Gogh painting brought to life. Her coat is so soft and is divine to pet. Her personality is stellar – she has a motorcycle level purr and simply loves to be held in our arms. She is so open to love and being loved and we all hope that someone can love her back as much as she deserves! You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page: Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.
