#Mae Some stories stay with you… and Mae is one of them. Mae was one of the dogs involved in that devastating fire about a month ago… the one that shook all of us. She was, without a doubt, one of the most severely affected—and somehow… she’s the last one still waiting for her forever home. And we just can’t let that be her ending. Mae has been in a loving foster home with one of our incredible volunteers, and little by little… she’s starting to come back to life. She is incredibly sweet, just still learning that the world can be safe again. Slowly showing off her playful side (and it’s SO adorable) Loves food—treats are the way to this girl’s heart Gets along with other dogs after a proper adjustment period Great with a toddler (!!) Mae is still a bit timid if approached too quickly, so she does best when she’s allowed to come to you on her own terms. And understandably so… her little body carries reminders of what she’s been through. She has some sensitivity along her back where her burn scars are healing, and she just needs someone gentle, patient, and understanding of that. But here’s the beautiful part… Once she trusts you—she wants to be part of everything. She wants to follow her dog friends, be near her people, and just belong. She’s young (around 1–2 years old) and has so much life ahead of her… she just needs the right person to help her fully step into it. We are looking for a very patient, committed, and compassionate adopter—someone who understands that love, trust, and confidence take time. Someone who will put Mae first and give her the safe, soft landing she has always deserved. Because this girl has already fought so hard to be here… Now she just needs someone to fight for her.
