Just like the gemstone, this black Opal is a rare jewel! Opal’s family said that she is "a very snuggly and warm cat, she takes a little time to open up to people, but when she does, she likes to be held like a teddy bear at night." This senior lady would be happiest to be your one and only furry friend, as well as in an adult-only household. She may do well with older kids who move more predictably and understand her boundaries. If a chatty queen is what’s missing from your castle, come and meet Opal! If you’d like to meet our available pets, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt
