About Penny
Penny is every bit the Golden Retriever people hope for—affectionate, eager to please, and sharp as a tack. Even as a likely mix, she shines with classic breed traits: she delights in people’s company, welcomes other dogs, and picks up new skills quickly. Penny’s stunning looks aren’t just skin deep—she can stroll by your side on a loose leash and loves a leisurely walk followed by a refreshing swim. Training her feels rewarding; she already knows how to sit and is honing her "down" command, especially when treats are involved since she’s very food-motivated. Though her start in life was rough—Penny lived in a horse trailer with food simply thrown to her—she emerged trusting and people-focused. She greets folks with enthusiasm and is working on curbing her excitement so she doesn’t jump up. Patience and routine should help her master polite introductions soon. Penny is friendly with other dogs and might do well with cats. She’d fit in with an individual or a family with older kids and is simply waiting for someone to give her the home she deserves. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
