About Lady Jane

Hi, my name is Lady Jane! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Bubbly, Affectionate, Lively -Can Live with Kids: Unknown History, Likely okay with STURDY dog-savvy kids 5yr+ (age up to counselor discretion) -Can Live with Cats: Unknown History, extended VERY SLOW AND SUPERVISED introductions and interactions -Can Live with Dogs: Likely okay with a dog of similar size / energy levels - All initial introductions done at WHS. -Can do Apartment Living: Larger spaces may be considered with a good mental and physical exercise plan in place. -Potty Trained: Appears to be. -Bite History: No. -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: 1-3 depending on adopter experience. -Energy Level: HIGH -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Nope, Good to Go! Lady Jane came to us as a stray, so her past is a bit of a mystery, but what she lacks in backstory, she more than makes up for in personality. This girl is absolutely bursting with life and energy! She greets the world with enthusiasm and a zest that’s hard not to smile at. Like many young dogs, Lady Jane is still learning how to channel all that excitement. Sometimes her joy gets the best of her and she can be a bit jumpy or overly exuberant. With consistent guidance, positive reinforcement training, and plenty of outlets for her energy, she has all the potential to grow into a well-mannered and confident companion. Lady Jane will thrive in a home that can meet both her physical and mental needs. Daily exercise, enrichment activities, and continued training will be key to helping her feel balanced and fulfilled. Puzzle toys, structured play, and learning new skills will go a long way in keeping this smart girl happy. More than anything, Lady Jane is looking for stability, patience, and a family who understands that raising a young dog is a lifelong commitment. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
