This sweet soul came to NAWS from Southern Illinois after enduring a very difficult start to life. It’s believed Mango was caught in a coyote trap, resulting in the loss of one of his front legs, but you would never know it by the way he carries himself. Mango gets around wonderfully and doesn’t let anything slow him down. What stands out most about him isn’t what he’s been through — it’s his gentle spirit, quiet resilience, and endless desire to love and be loved. With his warm orange coloring, soulful eyes, and adorable habit of weaving around your legs for attention, Mango has a way of instantly stealing hearts. Mango James is the definition of affectionate. He wants pets, cuddles, and companionship as often as possible and will happily remind you when he thinks you’ve stopped petting him too soon. He’s a quiet boy who enjoys the simple things in life: a cozy home, a sunny window seat to watch the world safely from inside, and plenty of food. Mango absolutely loves his wet food and isn’t picky about flavors as long as the servings keep coming — and he fully expects his dry food bowl to stay topped off too. Dogs make him nervous, so he will need a calm, dog-free home where he can truly relax. He seems fine with laid-back cats, but Mango would also thrive as the center of attention in a home where he can soak up all the love for himself.
