And then, after just a couple of days, the real Ghost began to peek through. Ghost is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and deeply people‑oriented. He’s the kind of dog who leans his whole body into you just to feel close. At night, he sleeps on the floor right next to my bed, and every morning I wake up to him quietly watching my face, waiting for me to open my eyes. He’s treat‑motivated, eager to please, and making progress on not jumping up when he gets excited to greet new friends. He assumes every person he meets will love him, and honestly, he’s usually right. He’s not high‑energy, though a squirrel sighting will absolutely spark his enthusiasm. One of his happiest moments is rolling onto his back in the grass, legs in the air, smiling like he’s discovered pure joy.
