About Happy

Meet Happy Dog Formerly known as Bastille at the shelter, Happy came to us at just 8 pounds, nothing but skin and bones. He was rescued by the Paw Patrol LV Search & Rescue team, and he has come such a long way. He is now a healthy 14 pounds and looks amazing. And honestly? His name fits him perfectly. Happy is truly one of the happiest dogs his foster has ever met β€” and she has fostered a lot. Happy loves other dogs and would do especially well with another playful pup in the home. He walks nicely on leash, though he could still use a little guidance as he continues learning. He is very interested in cats, but he does not have an aggressive bone in his body with animals, so with patience and proper introductions, we believe he could adjust. With new people, Happy can be a little slow to warm up β€” but once he knows you, the love begins. The devotion this boy has for his people is so special. Every time he sees you, his whole face lights up. He wants to lay on you, be pet, press his head into your chest, and look into your eyes like he’s reaching straight into your soul. We have no idea how this sweet boy ended up on the streets in the condition he was found in, because the love he has to give is so real. Happy will do best in a patient home that understands he is still learning to trust. He needs people who will allow him to meet new friends on his own timeline β€” which, honestly, usually only takes about 30 minutes. He is doggie-door trained and doing great with potty training, with hardly any accidents anymore. The shelter had him listed as 11 years old, but we believe Happy is closer to 3–4 years old. He has playful, puppy-like energy, but he also knows how to settle down and relax. Happy is truly special. His foster says if she could keep another dog, this would be the one. Total foster fail material. Interested in meeting Happy? Please fill out an adoption application https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdc9IlMzlBqTTpXA9n5-AGb7XoE2Ru0ypKCP1q3VjNRGWloOQ/viewform
