About Rupert

Neutered Male 10 Months 7 Pounds $40 Meet Rupert, a handsome brown and white tabby with a gentle spirit and a cautious heart. At just 10 months old, Rupert is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Rupert is a very fearful and nervous boy who prefers to keep his distance. While he isn’t used to being handled or held, he does tolerate it and, importantly, has never shown any signs of aggression. When approached, his instinct is to retreat if he has the space—he’s simply trying to feel safe. Having been found as a stray, Rupert is most comfortable in environments where he has room to roam and observe at his own pace. Because of this, he would likely thrive as a barn cat or outdoor companion, where human interaction can happen on his terms. With time, patience, and a very understanding adopter, Rupert may adjust to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle—but he will need a calm environment and someone willing to let him move at his own speed. Rupert is looking for a home that sees his potential and respects his boundaries. In the right setting, this shy boy could quietly blossom into a loyal and rewarding companion. At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals! We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion. Want to Know if I’m Still Available? Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org. Open Adoption Hours: Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm Saturday: Noon – 4 pm I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642. We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
