Kirby’s journey started in a colony of community cats near an auto body shop, where he was the only kitten from his litter to survive. He came to Good Mews through our TNVR program for surgery and was quickly noted for his incredibly sweet nature, despite struggling with a severe URI at the time. With dedicated care and a loving foster home provided by one of our staff members, Kirby recovered and began learning what it means to truly be safe, healthy, and loved. Now an adult, Kirby is a vibrant, high-energy boy who still carries that kitten-like enthusiasm for life. He LOVES food (sometimes a little too much—slow and measured meals are still important for him), and he LOVES to play even more. Wand toys, rolling toys, anything that moves—Kirby is ready for action. He can be a bit rambunctious, especially since he previously lived with older, calmer cats who didn’t match his energy level. As a result, he’s built up quite a bit of playful momentum and really thrives in an active home where he can finally let it all out in healthy, fun ways. A playful feline companion would be ideal for him, and he would especially benefit from a home that includes kids or adults who are excited to engage in regular interactive play and enrichment. Kirby can still be a little shy when first approached, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines through—complete with enthusiastic head butts and a deep appreciation for attention on his terms. At his core, Kirby is a resilient, loving cat who has grown from a tiny survivor into a joyful, spirited companion. He’s looking for a home that can match his energy, guide his play, and appreciate both his sweet heart and his silly, lively personality.
