About Darby

Darby is an 8-month-old Australian Shepherd/Heeler mix who was born in rescue alongside seven littermates. She started her life as a happy pup, playing and bonding with her siblings. The transition to her adoptive home—including a long transport—left Darby fearful, and she’s become wary of new people. Because of this, a home without children is best while she works through her anxieties. Darby would thrive with a patient adopter in the PA or NJ area who can continue her training alongside professionals who already know her, though adopters out of the area with their own trainers are also welcome. She needs someone calm and committed to help her grow in confidence. Underneath her nerves, Darby is truly a wonderful dog with so much potential. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
