About Pip

Meet Pip, a 1.5-year-old love bug with soulful eyes, a lanky frame, and a heart that seems to exist solely to love others. Pip was deeply misunderstood at the shelter and, despite being a volunteer favorite, landed on the euthanasia list twice. But that pouty face and gentle spirit stuck with us, and we knew this sweet boy deserved the chance to find a truly phenomenal forever home. So out he came. And he has rewarded everyone around him with nothing but love ever since. At around 65 pounds, Pip is a tall, stretchy kind of guy who loves sprawling out dramatically on a dog bed or curling up close for snuggles. He is incredibly affectionate and has one of the softest, sweetest demeanors we’ve ever seen. Pip is dog friendly, cat friendly, and genuinely loves every person he meets. There’s not a mean bone in this boy’s body. Pip loves car rides, enjoys tagging along on adventures, and has done wonderfully in relaxed social settings like coffee shops and patio hangouts. Bustling city environments can make him a little unsure at times, but he looks to his people for reassurance and continues to gain confidence with positive experiences. This boy also has remarkable emotional intelligence. Pip seems to instinctively know when someone needs extra comfort and is always ready to lean in for a cuddle or quietly keep you company. He knows his basic commands, is crate trained, and absolutely loves a cozy dog bed. Pip can pull a bit on the leash when excited, but he responds very well to gentle correction and is eager to please. Overall, he’s an incredibly loving, well-rounded dog who simply wants to be near his people and included in life. Pip is fully vetted: vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He’s ready to leave his shelter days behind forever and become someone’s deeply devoted best friend. Could Pip be your boy? Apply to adopt at CRAPrescue.org/application. Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Pip's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
