Caramel
AvailableCaramel is a medium-sized adult female Labrador Retriever currently in Lutz, FL. She is spayed and her vaccinations are up to date. While Caramel is not yet house trained, she’s made real progress in learning basic skills and gaining confidence. She needs a home willing to support her ongoing journey from anxious survival to relaxed companionship.
About Caramel
Caramel’s story is one of resilience. She spent years surviving on the streets, avoiding traps and raising litter after litter without human kindness. When she finally arrived at a rural shelter, she was completely shut down, fearful of people and unfamiliar with even the basic routines of pet life. Everything changed when she joined the SSBR team in Louisiana. Here, she learned to trust, walk on a leash, and even started to wag her tail. Caramel is ready to leave her past behind and find a home where patience and compassion aren’t just words, but a way of life. She’ll need adopters who understand she will need time to settle; her transition will require dedication and gentle guidance. If you’re the steady, reassuring presence she needs, Caramel’s loyalty in return will be quietly remarkable. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
