About Spruce

Meet Spruce, a dashing 10-year-old tuxedo gentleman who is looking for a soft place to land. After his lifelong owner passed away, Spruce found himself overwhelmed by the stress of change, which manifested in a sensitive behavior called tail-chasing. Thanks to the dedicated care of our team, that wound has fully healed, and with the help of his current anti-anxiety medication, he is doing so much better! Spruce is a true "social eater" who finds comfort in companionship. He isn't just looking for a meal; he’s looking for a friend—in fact, he finds great joy in being hand-fed by his favorite humans. He is a sweet, handsome boy who simply needs a quiet, calm sanctuary to call home. Because Spruce is still working through his stress, we are looking for an experienced adopter who can provide him with a peaceful, low-stress environment. He would thrive best as the only pet in a home without children, where he can slowly build trust and confidence at his own pace. If you have the patience and heart to offer this elegant gentleman, Spruce will reward you with his gentle company and sweet, social personality. Interested in adopting Spruce? Follow the instructions below! -------- If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://thecatconnection.org/adopt/adoption-application/ Following the instructions and filling out this application rather than emailing us will get you a quicker response. Please also consider fostering as an alternative to adoption. To learn more, go to: http://thecatconnection.org/get-involved/foster/ Adoption Fee (effective 3/15/24) < 12 mos. $375 1-4 yrs $300 5-9 yrs. $250 10+ yrs. $125 These fees fund spay/neutering, microchipping, vaccinations, and combo testing (feline leukemia and FIV) for your adopted cat, rescue efforts, shelter, and veterinary care. Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Kittens are adorable, but older cats can be wonderful pets as well and they tend to be overlooked, so please consider adopting an adult cat or two! The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats. To find out more about us, please visit our website: http://thecatconnection.org/
