About Rufio

Rufio is a gentle soul. He is a little shy and more on the quiet side. He does good with other dogs, even small ones. I just can’t say enough sweet things about this pup. He is good in a car and is learning the leash. It takes a little while for him to trust new people, but once he does, his goofy and sweet personality shines! Rufio is medium energy and would do great with any family with a little patience. Rufio is not completely potty trained. He still marks in the house but is working on that. Located in Houston, Tx. Transport to most states available for an additional fee of $300.

Houston’s mild winters are comfortable for Labrador Retrievers. This is the best season for long walks at Memorial Park or along Buffalo Bayou. Labs can finally exercise hard without overheating.

Labs shed their winter undercoat as Houston warms up. Brush frequently to manage shedding. Mosquitoes emerge early, so keep heartworm prevention current since Labs spend lots of time outdoors.

Summer

Jun – Aug

Houston’s extreme heat and humidity are dangerous for active Labrador Retrievers who don’t self-regulate during exercise. Walk only before 7 AM or after 8 PM. Provide wading pools to help Labs cool off at home.

Fall

Sep – Nov

September is still hot in Houston, but by October Labrador Retrievers can enjoy Danny Jackson Dog Park and Terry Hershey Park trails comfortably. Their coat begins thickening, though Houston’s mild winters require less bulk.
