Jodie Pawster is a 5-year-old, 13 lb long-haired Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. She was rescued from a hoarding situation involving a van full of dogs in Los Angeles. A local rescuer who frequently steps in to help dogs in urgent need was contacted and immediately took her in. Jodie had not been spayed or vaccinated, and she also appeared to have had a litter of puppies in the past. Sadly, she was severely flea-infested and had to be shaved down to safely treat her and give her a fresh start. She was then brought to Shelter Hope so she could find the loving forever home she truly deserves. Despite everything she has been through, Jodie is sweet, curious, clever, and remarkably resilient. She is starting to relax now that she is safe, and her personality is beginning to shine through more each day. Our staff is still getting to know her as she continues to settle in, but she is already showing gentle, endearing little glimpses of who she is.
