About Ma'am
Ma'am is a lively Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix looking for a fresh start in the DC area. Just under two and a half years old, she's eager for long sniffy strolls, plenty of playtime, and a soft spot to call her own. At Lucky Dog Animal Rescue's South Carolina campus for now, she needs either a foster or, ideally, a forever family to help her settle into the next chapter. Ma'am gets along with other dogs and is always ready to make new friends at the park. If you have cats or kids at home, the team is happy to help you with a thoughtful introduction process. She has overcome heartworm—which, with treatment, won't impact her daily life long-term as long as she gets her monthly preventative. After her treatment, she’ll need a quiet recovery period for four to six weeks before she can get back to her usual adventures. For now, Lucky Dog encourages patience with any house-training needs, as Ma'am and other new arrivals work on crate training. All she really wants is to belong somewhere safe and warm, sharing affectionate gazes and loyal companionship with her humans. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
