About Sadie

Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process! Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application! Pet Description: Sadie us a sux-year old spayed female Great Dane, about 85 lbs. She was surrendered to us for not getting along with the two other Danes in the home. Here at the Shelter we have found that she gets along with any dog we have tried that is smaller than her. So let's go with that - any partner dog needs to be smaller than her and she is fine with very small dogs. She will also be fine with children say over 10 years old. She is housetrained, wants to be a gigantic lap dog, walks great on a leash and loves attention. Now one thing we found - she went 'off' when one of our staff was wearing cowboy type boots the first time she saw them. That staff member went and changed to tennis shoes and Sadie was perfectly fine - was the boots, not the person. She did it one other time with someone wearing boots. Now since she has calmed down and no longer reacting negatively to our staff members wearing boots. BUT, keep that in mind as she might react to a NEW person wearing boots. We can all surmise all we want as to why and we have our thoughts but be aware. She also does seem to definitely favor women so Sadie will definitely need to meet everyone in the family. And yes, to some a six-year-old Great Dane is a senior she should have many years of love yet to give as she is not a huge Dane. DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).
