He has a bright, affectionate personality and quickly becomes a constant companion to his people. He is a true best-friend type of cat—just looking at him gets the purrs going. Mateo always wants to be by your side, happily following along and “helping” with whatever you’re doing. Mateo has lots of energy and loves to stay active. He especially loves wand toys and would thrive with a playful feline companion to help burn off that energy and keep him engaged. He has done well living alongside another cat, even one who wasn’t very welcoming, and handled it with ease. Mateo is gentle with people and does a great job keeping his claws to himself, making him a potential fit for homes with respectful kids.
