About Jack

🐶 Basics ● Dog’s Name: Jack ● Age / Size: 4 Y / 15lbs ● Rescued in Texas where he was surrendered through no fault of his own 💙 Foster Note Jack is sweet, docile, wants to give and receive love and is happy to be here. He’s curious about his environment and is so brave taking on all the new things. As he comes out of his shell you can tell that he’s got a goofy side and is a bit of an endearing klutz (almost falling off the couch because he’s stretching so big). 💛 Personality Snapshot ● Describe in 3–5 words: o Jack is a sweet goofball with a big heart. ● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): o Low / Moderate - he gets the occasional zoomie but is generally pretty chill ● More people‑oriented or independent? o Jack loves people and would happily sit or nap by your side during any activity. He can be a little nervous when left along, but is developing good self soothing habits. ● How do they handle new situations? o Jack is adjusting nicely to city life. He can be timid on walks with new sights and sounds but with a little coaxing he takes things like a champ. Indoors he is fascinated by everything but very respectful - his most exciting activity on his first day with me was watching me unload the dishwasher, I’ve never seen a dog so rapt with attention. 🐕 Social & Home Life ● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? o Jack has met many new people from friends to strangers on the street and he takes it completely in stride. He’s always up for pets and would do great in a home with one or multiple humans (kids included). ● How are they with other dogs? o Jack has been great with my dog Henry (10lb cavapoo who can be a bit grumpy) - Jack is patient, respects boundaries, and is learning how to initiate play. On walks he is super curious about every dog we pass and does not seem to be intimidated by bigger dogs. ● Cats or other animals (if known)? o I suspect Jack would do great with cats. On walks he is curious but not reactive to squirrels, preferring to sit and observe instead of hunt. ● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: o He wants to visit with all people and happily accepts whatever affection they give. Jack prefers to be in the presence of his human and can get a little lonely when left along but he seems to calm himself quickly and is ever so happy when I return. 🌞 Daily Life ● Typical day with you: o Wake up around 6:30am and straight outside to potty. Breakfast around 7am and then some light play time and naps. 1-2 afternoon walks (while we are working on house training) and then an evening walk after a 5pm dinner. Bed around 9pm. ● Exercise needs: o Jack is very chill and doesn’t seem to need a ton of exercise, as he’s getting his bearings neighborhood walks are great. ● Favorite activities or toys: o Jack is mostly interested in cuddling! He’s learning to play with toys and has initiated play time with my pup Henry a few times. I can see his playful side coming out and I think once he’s fully settled he’s going to be the funnest little guy. 🌱 Growth Areas ● Anything they’re still working on? o Jack can be a little timid going into and out of doors and entryways. All he needs is a little coaxing and some patience and he’s getting better every time. ● What helps them succeed? o Jack just needs love and pets! With some encouragement he’s taken on every challenge and succeeded. He loves treats, but a kind voice and encouraging touch after he’s accomplished his task has gone the furthest. 🏡 Ideal Home ● Only dog / With dog / Either: o Either! I think Jack would do great as a solo dog and that he would also love a home where has other pets to cuddle with. ● Good fit for apartment living? o Absolutely - he is so calm and respectful. ● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): o I think Jack would do best in a calm to moderate household - he doesn’t seem like he wants to do super active things like big hikes or trips. I could also see this changing when he’s fully acclimated. ● What kind of adopter would be the best match? o Someone kind and patient who is looking for their BFF to cuddle on the couch with. I could see him doing really well with a family where there are always people around. He really is so loving. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
