Possum
AvailablePossum is an Australian Shepherd in Arlington, TX. He's about 4 years and 3 months old, male, and considered large in size. Possum is neutered and house trained. Born in early February, he's got that classic Australian Shepherd intelligence and sensitivity. He's made great strides in a patient foster home and is searching for a stable, calm environment where he can continue to build his confidence.
About Possum
Meet Possum. He’s a sensitive soul who has come a long way from his initial, anxious days. At about 40 pounds and roughly 4 years old, Possum is shy at first and quick to retreat if he feels overwhelmed. But when he warms up, he sticks close to his person, happiest as your quiet, loyal shadow. Possum’s progress has been steady, thanks to patient foster care. Where he once ran for cover, now he’ll follow you from room to room, stretch out near you, and thoroughly enjoy his couch cuddle time. Intelligence comes naturally to him, and every week reveals a bit more of his gentle, goofy nature. He’s house trained and gets along well with predictable routines, though he’ll need continued patience to gain new confidence. The outside world still seems big, but he’s learning the yard isn’t so scary. Possum currently needs slow, careful introductions to other dogs, and resource guarding around food is something to manage thoughtfully. He may not be a fit for every household, but if you have a calm home, experience with nervous dogs, and the time to go slow, Possum promises deep loyalty and companionship. Born February 6 (making him an independent and quirky Aquarius), Possum is looking for someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
