We want to introduce you to Elusive. ❤️ This handsome 3-year-old fellow sadly has spent the last year at our rescue, waiting for something better…waiting for his happily ever after. One third of his life he has been confined here. Elusive resides in the tower right by our front door – he has watched endless people come and go and seen so many other cats find their families and forever homes. Yet, he rarely gets a second look. Why? Because Elusive is known to be “naughty” at times. You may wonder if he earned that label. Yes, he did. He has moments where he can be a stinker. Elusive is equally nice and naughty. He loves attention, enjoys pets and gets very excited when visitors approach his kitty tower. He loves toys and will interact with people. He loves to watch the birds out the window. He can be so friendly and loving if he is in the mood. But then he can also swipe at people, especially when they are unsuspecting. He is quick and will use his paws or be mouthy at times when he is overstimulated or excited. He just doesn’t know any better. The funny thing is, he will then often look guilty and attempt to apologize by acting sweet again. Based on these behaviors, it is obvious that Elusive is not for everyone. He needs an experienced adopter that is not intimidated by his stealthy behaviors and is willing to work with him. He needs a home without children. We truly love this moody boy, even when he is aggravating. Being a “naughty” kitty at times shouldn’t warrant a lifetime in a rescue and continued homelessness. Elusive is a social cat and certainly deserves to be loved. It breaks our hearts that he has been with us so long, and we worry that his confinement may only be causing him to act out more. He is likely frustrated and tired of waiting. Elusive needs someone who can see past his behaviors to his potential. He is a project kitty that will need some work. We are hopeful that in a home, with enriching activities and room to play, run and explore, his inappropriate behaviors will diminish. Could you be what Elusive needs?
