About Dex

Dexter, or Dex for short, is a 9.5-pound blond Chihuahua with a lot going for him. At about a year and a half old, he’s mostly house trained and sleeps soundly through the night without accidents, usually curled up in bed with his foster. Dex handles a leash well and does just fine with both men and women. While he’s comfortable around dogs his size, he’ll need slow introductions to big dogs. Kids over six are fine, as long as they know to be gentle. Dex is a mix of outdoor explorer and champion snuggler. He is instantly fascinated by any bird or small animal that catches his attention, and he's really coming into his own when it comes to playtime and zoomies. When he does bark, it’s with fair warning—he gives a few warm-up noises before he actually lets loose. He’ll need a family willing to give him a calm, structured environment, plenty of attention, and gentle guidance as he settles into a new routine. Dex needs security, patience, and someone who’ll help keep him socialized while being mindful not to push him past his comfort zone. As a Libra, Dex tends to seek harmony and affection in his world. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
