Bianca (A567063) arrived as a stray and to our surprise has not been reclaimed. This sweet Bull Terrier is putting on a very tough act behind her kennel door. She barks, she postures and she tries her best to look intimidating, but the truth is that she is overwhelmed. The shelter is loud and she is meeting strangers nonstop. For a dog like Bianca, this is confusing and stressful. Once she is taken outside on a leash and shown she can trust you, she turns into a completely different dog. The transformation is almost immediate. Bianca warms up fast when handled gently. She enjoys being pet and appreciates calm interactions. She does need help learning how to walk confidently on a leash and will require a home ready to offer some basic training and encouragement. When we tested her with a calm senior dog slightly larger than her, she did great. She did not want to play and preferred to simply coexist in the yard. She gave appropriate corrections and kept things easy. With her relaxed temperament, we think she would do well with a chill male dog who matches her energy. Because Bianca is a bull terrier, we do ask that anyone interested takes the time to research the breed. They are phenomenal dogs but they do best with structure, understanding and someone ready to take the lead. Bianca needs a home that can guide her, help her decompress and show her that life is not something she needs to fear. She is a good girl who just needs someone patient enough to see past the kennel act. Bianca is estimated to be around 6 years old and weighs 47 pounds.
