RUFUS — A LIFE SAVED JUST IN TIME Some dogs come into the world surrounded by love. Others, like Rufus, almost never get the chance. At just about 1.8 years old, Rufus found himself on the euthanasia list at a Texas kill shelter — not because he was dangerous, broken, or unwanted… but because time simply ran out. He was saved just in time, pulled from the brink of a fate he didn’t deserve. We couldn’t let this incredibly sweet boy lose his life before it had truly begun. Rufus is a mixed‑breed mystery — likely a blend of Lab, Cattle Dog, and probably a few other breeds sprinkled in — but what we know for sure is that he is 100% sweetness. He has a sturdy frame, soulful eyes, and a heart that seems endlessly gentle. Rufus is kind and social in every way. He is fantastic with other dogs, big and small, and has been fostered on a farm, where he showed zero aggression toward farm animals. In fact, one of his favorite things to do is gently kiss the pigs through the fence, as if greeting each one like an old friend. Rufus is wonderful on a leash — calm, attentive, and eager to please. Walks with him are a joy. And when it comes to affection, Rufus gives freely and often. He loves to give kisses, lean into his people, and soak up every ounce of love he can get.
