She and her previous owner were the only ones to make it out of a devastating house fire. What followed was weeks of instability and ultimately the selfless decision by her owner to surrender Trucy so she had a chance at a more stable life. We were happy to offer this sweetie the soft landing and support she needed. Despite everything, Trucy seems eager to trade her past for a bright future. She’s a Beagle mix and has several of the classic Beagle personality quirks: - Her nose leads the way, always. - Communicating is a way of life. - She will happily audit your kitchen counters for any leftover crumbs. Trucy is a high-energy puppy who finds pure joy in backyard zoomies and long sniffy walks. She’s smart and has already mastered several tricks, including a literal hug on cue that will make you feel like the center of the universe. Because she is still learning she’d do best in a home with older children and perhaps another dog or dog-savvy cat to be a playmate. She has energy to burn and a playmate would be a huge help with that goal. Her ideal home with have a big fenced in yard. Trucy is also housebroken, though crate-training is a work in progress. Finding the right fit for Trucy means finding an adopter that understands her training and exercise needs. When she’s satisfied, she is a dream to snuggle with her bunny-soft coat. Trucy is a brilliant, vocal, and affectionate girl who needs someone to show her the ropes of a stable routine.
