About Big Mac
Meet Big Mac, a solid, sturdy six-year-old with sleek "mini panther" looks and a backstory as tough as his frame. He was once part of a group of cats surviving around dumpsters at a McDonald's in inner city Cleveland. While some cats in his group had been ear tipped by prior rescuers, many—including Big Mac—were still fending for themselves. Initially, he kept his distance, a shadowy figure on a hillside, more interested in watching people than being with them. A trap set for a different cat ended up catching him instead, leading to a turning point neither he nor the rescuers expected. At first, Big Mac was cautious and not keen on people, requiring interaction on his own terms and ready with a wary hiss at the wrong move. But after a few months in care, Big Mac transformed—now he leans into affection, arches his big body into your hand, and soaks up every bit of love. He’s healthy, thriving, and lives with FIV—a condition that sounds more ominous than it is, especially for a well-cared-for indoor cat. Big Mac gets along well with other cats and would really enjoy sharing his future home with a feline companion. He’s affectionate, loyal, and totally worth earning that trust. All he needs now is someone willing to give him the home he’s worked so hard to deserve. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
