About Blue

From Sidewalk Sovereign to Bedroom Monarch: Blue's Reign Begins. Blue spent sixteen years ruling the streets: no litter box, no plush beds, no toys, just her sharp wit and neighborly charm. She greeted every subject, human or canine, with royal head bumps, earning daily tributes of petting and admiration. Her Majesty was adored, and the sidewalk was her throne. Now, this dashing senior lady is ready to find her forever home!! At 16 years old Blue is independent, dignified, and charming- she gives affectionate head rubs and kisses but chooses when to grace you with her presence. She's not a lap cat (yet), and she'll verbally make sure you know if something displeases her. After all, being the boss is the secret to her legendary reign. Blue upgraded from street royalty to indoor diva, officially crowned Queen on February 4th. She rules her new realm- a cozy bedroom palace- with an iron paw and a velvet nose. As her loyal butler, I serve gourmet meals in bed and dutifully prepare her bedding (under her strict supervision). Blue's royal decree: cardboard scratchers are my throne, no satin sheets, only rugged textures and dog toys; for balls and mice are simply beneath me. Her majesty enjoys 18 hours of beauty sleep on the bed (atop her favorite textured towels), guards the window like a seasoned huntress, and graciously accepts play visits from neighborhood kids and petting from adults. Nights bring play and shared slumber; mornings mean love time. Sometimes she sleeps to her favorite sound mix- minimal piano, purrs, crackling fireplace or, for lively evenings, high-quality action TV. Blue runs a tight ship, but luxury is her birthright in her world, humans exist for her comfort and adoration. Long live the Queen! She currently reigns in a lower-level duplex with just me and 2 female cats on the other side of the bedroom door. Blue has been in 1 room for 3 months. From her first night, she has slept in the bed with me. Blue demands a home where her storied past and royal quirks are respected. She must reign as the sole animal, thriving best with multiple humans - children over 5, other adults, and/or frequent guests are essential for her royal court. Someone who works from home or is around frequently would truly please her highness. Winter excursions are off the table (the Queen's decision), but with warmer weather, she may request a return to her sidewalk throne. Her future family must know how to support her desire to enjoy the outdoors...but safely! A fully enclosed outdoor enclosure in a yard, a catio, a three-season porch, or an easy-on harness for gentle walks with you would be excellent, well-supervised ways to let her experience the outdoors without the risk of escaping or encountering any dangers. It is also possible that, after 16 hard years, Blue may find herself content with indoor spaces like a sunporch or window perches. Her ideal family should own their home, live in a lively neighborhood, and commit to regular grooming of her lustrous long fur...she expects nothing less from her loyal subjects. For now, gravel litter is best because it doesn't get trapped in her fur the way some of the finer litters do; however, as she ages, she may require the softer litter. Although Blue is ready to leave her palace, mysterious tummy troubles have kept her on medical hold. She has not been officially diagnosed with a food allergy, but it is highly likely she has one, and will likely need prescription food and no treats moving forward. She will also need a calming collar for the next five months, to ease her transition to a new home. After all, a queen's health always comes first! As Blue seeks her final kingdom to rule over, is your home truly prepared for a sovereign of her caliber? Cardboard thrones everywhere, a tower to survey her domain, a lavatory worthy of feline royalty, window perches adorned with textured soft towels, and plenty of space for her royal strolls. Do you have what it takes to serve and celebrate this legendary Cat Queen? The journey awaits; apply for a royal audience! Blue is 100% feline, but existing as a cat is all very new to her. This beautiful girl is so easy; just listen to her and she will tell you what she needs, wants, and does or does not like. Allow her to be who she is, her authentic self. Journey along with her on the road to becoming a true cat in a real home. It will be a priceless gift. There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped.
