Ash is a 6-year-old pit bull mix who has come a long way from her rough start. Once found scared and hungry, she's settled into home life with a gentle, affectionate spirit. She loves to stay close to her people, lounge on the couch, and join in relaxed walks, and she's especially fond of exploring the yard and enjoying the company of other dogs after a proper introduction. Ash is house trained, not destructive, and comfortable in her foster home without a crate—she prefers her own cozy space. Walks are a highlight, and though she’s still brushing up on a few commands, she’s leash trained and eager to please. Ash is currently heartworm positive, but she’s on treatment and getting stronger each day. She hasn’t spent much time with cats and may do best in a cat-free home due to a likely high prey drive. While she hasn’t had much exposure to children, she may be fine with respectful kids. Her ideal home is calm and laid-back, with a fenced yard and a patient family ready to help her continue building confidence.
