Macaroon – Dumped at the Shelter TWICE 💔 In 2025, E Rescue Houston stepped in at the last minute to save Cookie and her litter of kittens—including little Macaroon—from a shelter on 242. Without that rescue, this family wouldn’t have made it out. Just three months later, Cookie and her daughter Macaroon were adopted by a family who promised them a forever home. Sadly, that promise wasn’t kept. On 4/11, E Rescue Houston received a call from the Houston SPCA—both had been surrendered by their adopter. We all know how risky owner surrenders can be in a shelter environment, but thankfully their microchips led them back to safety, and a volunteer rushed to bring them back into rescue care. Now, Cookie has found her new home… but Macaroon is still waiting. 💛 Macaroon is a very sweet girl who’s understandably a little confused after everything she’s been through—abandoned not once, but twice in her short life.
