About Roxy

Roxy is a 2-year-old, roughly medium-sized Black Mouth Cur mix who’s learning to trust the world a little more every day. She arrived at Canine Collective with her close companions, and it’s obvious she leans on other dogs for comfort and courage. Roxy takes her time in new places, usually preferring to observe quietly, but bring another calm, confident dog into the mix and she quickly feels safer. She’s still on the shy side with unfamiliar people, but her curiosity wins out for treats and soft voices—and when she feels safe, her sweet, gentle nature starts to come through. Volunteers say Roxy does better than expected on a leash, even though she’s new to it all. She thrives with steadiness, patience, and a peaceful environment. A foster or foster-to-adopt situation would help her relax into home life, and if you already have a gentle, confident dog, even better. Watching a nervous pup unfurl into herself is always rewarding—if you’re willing to give Roxy the time and patience she needs, you’re in for something special. Ready to meet your new best friend?
