About Spike
Spike is a gentle Yorkshire Terrier who’s lived with a senior until recently, and at seven years old, he’s ready for a slower lifestyle. He weighs about 7 lbs and is fully neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, with a recent dental to keep him healthy. Spike lost vision in one eye after an incident with a larger dog a few years back, but he’s adapted well. He gets along just fine with other dogs—though his rescue prefers homes without large breeds—and is cat-friendly too. True to his velcro-dog nature, Spike follows his person from room to room, always craving company. He does bark regularly, so he isn’t suited for apartment life. While he’s not overly playful, he fits best with a homebody who’ll let him bask in quiet companionship. He can be wary of strangers in the house, barking at anyone unfamiliar, but settles down around those he knows. Belly bands help with marking; being recently neutered should help him adjust, too. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow with a sweet streak, Spike could fit right in. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
