Heath doesn't have special needs, but his future adopter should be prepared for his size and energy as he continues to grow.
About Heath The King Size
Now fostered in Bellingham, WA, Heath The King Size is an 8-month-old Great Dane/Labrador Retriever mix who's already pushing 70 pounds and is expected to top 100 when fully grown. Nothing about Heath is small—he's the full king-size bar: substantial, loving, and delightfully goofy. Heath started life abandoned in Texas oil fields with his mom and siblings, but after some hard times and a lot of TLC, he's made his way to the Pacific Northwest and is looking for a family ready for a giant breed with a gentle, playful soul. Heath's appearance is striking—his sleek short chocolate-black coat, highlighted with a touch of white, pairs with large, floppy ears and a sweet, expressive face. He adores people and will happily drape himself across your feet for a nap. Heath is social and spends time at a small in-home dog daycare, so he's developing good manners with other dogs and gets along well with them. He's lived with cats too, so with thoughtful introductions, sharing a home with feline friends is possible. Heath is potty and crate trained, and he’s curious about the world, though sometimes he startles easily and just needs a bit of reassurance. Heath would do best with older kids who aren’t likely to be knocked over by a big, bouncy buddy. He could adapt to an apartment if there are no size restrictions and he receives consistent exercise, but a yard to stretch those long legs would be ideal. If you’re ready for a once-in-a-lifetime, king-size companion who’s affectionate, sensitive, and seriously sweet, this big-hearted boy might be your perfect match. Ready to fall in love?
