About Hudson Kindred Cutie

Right-there-with-you, quietly devoted, patio-sitting, heart-stealing in the softest way… this is Hudson! If you want to skip right to seeing him in action, go watch Hudson ā€œRight There With Youā€ on YouTube, then come right back… because he’s the kind of dog who is easy to picture settled in beside you. https://youtu.be/jc1lL_IRDMw Hudson is estimated to be around 1 year old, weighs 40 lbs, and appears to be a lab mix, though with rescue, breed and age are always our best guess. What we know for sure is that Hudson brings a calm, grounded presence that feels easy to be around. He’s not here to overwhelm your life… he’s here to gently become part of it. Hudson is what we like to call a ā€œright there with youā€ kind of dog. Not in a clingy, constant-demand way, but in a steady, reassuring presence that just naturally stays close. Sitting beside you on the couch or settling nearby while you go about your day… that’s his comfort zone. He bonds deeply with his people and truly just wants to exist alongside you. Hudson isn’t an over-the-top guy, but he is deeply connected. He will love every bit of affection, closeness, and forms such meaningful bonds, with a beautifully quiet delivery. In the home, Hudson is wonderfully respectful. He’s not one to get into things or create chaos, and he carries himself with a calm awareness of his environment. He is house and crate trained, settles nicely once he understands the routine, and while his foster shared that he doesn’t love being in his crate, the feeling passes quickly when he has a cozy setup and something enriching to focus on. Speaking of enrichment… Hudson would absolutely choose a food puzzle over a toy every single time. He’s a thinking dog, a ā€œlet me work for itā€ kind of guy, which is such a great quality and that makes him a great candidate for continued training and engagement in the home. Energy-wise, Hudson is more low to medium. He enjoys time outside exploring the yard, lounging on the patio (his personal favorite), and going for walks, but he is not a high-demand, go-go-go dog. A home with a yard would suit him beautifully, though apartment living could be considered with the right balance of physical and mental stimulation. On leash, Hudson has great basic leash skills and does well overall but he can pull a bit when he is excited. With consistency and guidance, he’s very capable of improving, especially since he’s already shown he responds well to handling and direction. With other dogs, Hudson is social but thoughtful about it. He is a regular at doggie day care and loved for his confident but playful nature. We feel he would do best in a home with a low to medium energy dog who won’t overwhelm him, but who can still enjoy occasional play. He’s not a constant playmate type… more of a ā€œhang out always and play sometimesā€ kind of companion. He has done well with both large and small dogs and easily breaks away when he needs a break. He will do his own thing rather than engage in high-energy play. Hudson was introduced to our house cat and showed very little interest in him. He gave him a quick sniff before walking off to go see about something else. We see all the signs of a dog that could live peacefully with feline friends. We still recommend proper introduction and continued guidance in a home with a cat. If you’ve been looking for a dog who doesn’t need to be the center of everything, but instead wants to be right there with you through it all… Hudson might just be your perfect match.
