About Baby
Baby is an 8-month-old Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix, rescued from Kosovo and now searching for a home in Manhattan, NY. Her foster says she’s a 40-pound snuggle bug with wonderfully soft fur (recently shaved, but she’s actually double-coated) and an easygoing, affectionate nature. Baby adores kids—her foster’s 4-year-old daughter uses her as a pillow—and she’s gentle, patient, and tolerant, though she still has occasional big-puppy moments and can get mouthy when playing or chewing. She’s got a playful streak, especially when it comes to toys and fetch in the garden, and thrives on daily exercise and time outside. Baby generally does well with other dogs and is learning boundaries, but as a typical young pup, she’ll benefit from more socialization. She is house trained and crate trained, adjusting well to being alone for periods, but will need continued support with leash manners and basic obedience. Baby’s a major cuddle bug but can also be independent and entertain herself with naps or toys. She’s comfortable with the bustle of the city during the day but gets nervous with strangers at night, often barking at new people she meets in the evening. A quieter city neighborhood or suburb will probably suit her best. Baby is recommended for adult homes or families with kids 8 and up due to her size and playful energy. Applicants should have relevant dog ownership experience and be ready to provide regular mental and physical stimulation. She’ll do best in a home with lots of time, structure, and plenty of patience for ongoing puppy training. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
