Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Baby, an 8-month-old, 40-pound shepherd/labrador retriever mix who is as loving as she is playful. Expected to reach around 50 pounds full-grown, she’s already spayed and up to date on her DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. Baby was rescued from Kosovo, and though her breed mix is a best guess, her doubly soft fur (currently shaved down) is just one of her charming features. Her foster says Baby is a snuggle bug who thrives on affection, adores children—especially her four-year-old foster sibling—and balances active playtime with cuddles. Favorite pastimes include playing with toys in the garden and relaxing for some well-earned snuggles. Baby’s ideal family will have intermediate dog experience and plenty of time and patience, as raising a puppy requires lots of structure, daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation. An active adopter who can keep up with her evolving needs and provide at least 60-90 minutes of brisk exercise each morning will help Baby flourish. She’s crate trained and does well alone, working on leash manners and puppy chewing habits with quick progress. House training is nearly complete—she’s great with a backyard and continues to improve. Her playful yet gentle demeanor makes her a wonderful companion for children, though all play between dogs and kids should be supervised. She’s social with most dogs and seems open to living with cats, though more socialization will benefit her overall confidence. While Baby adapts well to city life, she is sensitive to nighttime noises and may be happiest in a quieter neighborhood or suburb. Baby is currently available through foster-to-adopt, so you can get to know her in your home before making things official. She is adored by everyone she meets, is polite with visitors, and loves being the center of attention. With continued training and love, she will mature into a well-adjusted, loyal best friend.
